Is there anything worse than dealing with a boring villager in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Well, maybe there is, but you might be thinking about kicking one of them off your island. Sometimes the little nickname they have for you might rub you the wrong way and you just can’t take it anymore. How exactly are you going to remove them?
There is currently no quick and easy method that 100% guarantees that a villager will be fired from your island. In fact, it seems to be somewhat random whether a villager will consider moving out. Many players have their own theories that supposedly work, but there are many that are completely wrong. For example, some argued that a villager would be angered by a net on the head, causing him to ask to be relocated. Others stated that Isabella’s complaint to the Housing Authority could cause the villagers to leave. Both are untrue. However, there are a few methods that seem to work.
You’ll know a villager is ready to move out when a cloud appears over his head. After talking to them, they will tell you that they were thinking about moving away, and if you agree, they will leave the island in a few days. To speed up this process, try one of the following methods.

You can often find your villagers walking around the island. Under normal circumstances, you would probably be inclined to approach them and strike up a conversation. However, if you want the peasant to move out, do not interact with him. Try to avoid starting conversations and even stay away from them. Talk to other villagers instead. Some players will build a fence around a villager’s home to keep them trapped so you don’t accidentally run into them.
The weird thing is that some villagers might ask to move even if you talk to them every day. That is why many players believe that it is random. Either way, you’ll eventually be asked to kick out a villager if you ignore him.
Amiibo cards

The second method expects you to have Animal Crossing amiibo cards. These cards can be found online and are included in blind packs. Or you can get specific cards from eBay merchants. A viable option is to use an amiibo card to replace a character on your island. To do this, go to Residential Services and interact with the device. Select the Amiibo option and claim whatever card you have. However, you need to check and make sure it’s a peasant and not a worker like Tom Nook or Isabella.
Once selected, they will embark on a journey to your city as a camper. Satisfy all their needs and demands and keep pushing them to move in. At one point they will accept and move in the next day, as long as you still have vacancies. Note that only ten villagers can live on your island at a time, so choose wisely.
Of course, if your island has reached its maximum capacity, you will be asked to replace the villager with the person requested from the amiibo card. The good news is that you can choose which villager to replace by bargaining with them. You’ll notice a list of your villagers appear, allowing you to decide who to prioritize. This technique also works well with random campers, but the downside is that you’ll have to wait for those people to arrive. With amiibo cards, you can bring certain villagers at your leisure.
