Hyderabadi biryani vs Karachi biryani: Babar Azam, Hasan Ali and others Pak cricketers pick their favourite

Biryani holds a special place in the hearts of foodies. Food lovers were also seen engaging in “battles” to determine which type of biryani was the best. In a recent video, Pakistani cricketers were seen doing something similar. The players were caught expressing their views on Hyderabadi biryani and whether they like the dish more than Karachi biryani.

The ICC shared the video on Instagram along with the apt title which reads “Battle of Biriyani”. Pakistan cricket team is currently in India to participate in the upcoming ICC Men’s World Cup 2023.

The video shows Babar Azam, Hasan Ali, Imam ul Haq and Haris Rauf being asked if they would like to try Hyderabadi biryani and how they would rate the dish. Cricketers share their thoughts on the delicacy and also rate it. Their answers become even more interesting when asked if they like it with Karachi biryani.

The video was shared just over two hours ago. It has since garnered close to 6.7 lakh views. The share also collected almost 77,000 likes. People posted different comments while reacting to the video.

How did Instagram users react to the Pakistani players’ video?

“Divided by nations united by biriyani,” an Instagram user expressed. “I love how the Pakistani players liked our hospitality,” added another. “How can you even compare Hyderabadi biryani with others,” added a third.

“Hyderabadi Biryani singlehandedly beats any other biryani except Lucknowi and Kolkata. Humne toh Karachi biryani ke baare me sunaa hi aaj hai [I came to know about the existence of Karachi biryani just today]”, wrote the fourth.

About the ICC Cricket World Cup

This mega event will start on October 5th and the final match is scheduled for November 19th. India will host the event for the fourth time. The matches will be played in ten different locations across the country.

In total, 10 teams will compete against each other in 48 games. Apart from India and Pakistan, the participating countries in this event are England, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and South Africa.
