Gord Bamford, an Australian-Canadian country musician, paid tribute to him on social media, posting some photos and saying he remembers him singing at Longview Hall and looking up saw someone standing in the doorway looking at him. He quickly recognized it as Tyson and continued:
“He stood there singing a few songs and then disappeared. I went back to my dressing room after the performance and found him waiting there with drinks and snacks! “You are a very lovely child,” he commented. Keep doing what you are doing and good luck.” We talked for a bit and he asked me to come see the old stone house later.”
Bamford expressed his regret at not being able to speak to Tyson and ended by saying that they have lost a legend and that he sends his condolences to Tyson’s family, friends and fans.
