IIT Bombay is celebrating National Education Day, paying tribute to India’s first education minister

National Education Day: India observes National Education Day on the birth anniversary of independent India’s first education minister Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad every year on November 11, 2023. This year, IIT Bombay (Indian Institute of Technology) observed National Education Day on November 10, 2023.

IIT Bombay started the celebration at 3:00 PM in the hall of Prof. B. Nag, VMCC Campus. dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Director General, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and Secretary, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, graced the event with her presence as the chief guest.

Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay shared some pictures from the celebration on microblogging site X. The post read: ”To commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s first Education Minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, IIT Bombay celebrated National Education Day today. We heartily congratulate the awardees.”

Prestigious awards given to IITB faculty members

Meanwhile, IITB organized an award function for its teaching staff. The Faculty has been awarded various prestigious awards, including the 2022 Research Dissemination Awards, the 2022 Research Publication Awards, the Prof. Krithi Ramamritham for Creative Research 2022 and Early Stage Successful Research Awards 2022.

Each research award carries a citation and a cash award of Rs 5,000, as well as an internal research award of Rs 5 lakh. Award Prof. Krithi Ramamritham comes with a cash prize of one lakh rupees as well as recognition. Every year on National Education Day, an awards ceremony is held to honor the achievements of faculty members.
