The secretary of State is the subject of an investigation by the parquet national financier to have received two lithographs as a gift while he was an mp and mayor of Annonay.

The investigation, entrusted to the central Office for the fight against corruption and violations of financial and tax (Oclciff), has been open to “corruption” and “illegal catch of interests,” said a source close to the file, confirming information from Mediapart.
Two lithographs with a value of 2000 €
The deal, revealed in may by the online media, focuses on two lithographs offered by the Saur Olivier Dussopt in January 2017 and valued at “a little more than 2000 euros”, while a contract was on the point of being concluded between the city and the business of water management. The latter, negotiated from 2016, was formally signed six months later, on June 1, 2017. The two works in question are called Esther The Queen, and The Companion, the Rooster and the Candle.

In may, Olivier Dussopt was invoked with Mediapart a gift of a”friend” of Franck Meneroux, one of the leaders of the Saur in the Ardèche, before recognizing a “gift enterprise” to be offered the opportunity of an interview with this manager and another part of the Saur. For his part, Franck Meneroux had told Mediapart that Olivier Dussopt was “not a friend” but “a working relationship” and a “client”. In all cases, once the government, Olivier Dussopt did not hesitate to make the move to inaugurate himself a new turbine installed in Annonay by the Saur.
No statement to the compliance officer of the Assembly
The secretary of State had also explained not to have said these lithographs to the compliance officer of the national Assembly because he “was unaware of the value” of the two tables. According to the code of ethics of the national Assembly, deputies are nevertheless required to report to the compliance officer “of the gifts, benefits and invitations to a sporting event, or cultural value that they estimate more than 150 euros from which they have benefited because of their mandate”. Leaving little doubt as to the procedure to be followed in the present case.
