DJ Arafat, an Ivorian singer with a large following in French-speaking Africa, has died after a street accident in Abidjan, state broadcaster RTI announced on Monday.
“Artist DJ Arafat died…as we speak at 8am due to a traffic accident in one day,” he tweeted.
According to messages and photos circulating on social networks, he was on a motorcycle and collided with a car. Seriously injured, he was taken to a hospital in Abidjan, where he later died.
