Meet Jacqueline Emmer, Tom Emmer’s wife
Tom Emmer’s wife is called Jacqueline Emmer and they met during their studies. The couple exchanged wedding vows in July 1986.
On their 35th anniversary in 2021, Tom posted on his Facebook: “35 years ago today I married the love of my life. Time flies when you spend every day with your best friend. Happy anniversary, Jacquie!”

Tom was born in 1961, grew up in Minnesota and attended St. Thomas. He earned his JD from William Mitchell College of Law after graduating from the University of Alaska-Fairbanks with a BA in Political Science. After several years of law practice, he started his own law practice.
For the next twenty years, he balanced family, career, hockey coaching, and positions on the city councils of Independence and Delano. Before entering Congress, he was a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives from 2004 to 2008.
On January 6, 2015, Congressman Tom Emmer was sworn in and began his first term in the US House of Representatives. He is in the midst of his fifth term. Tom was elected House Majority Representative by his Republican colleagues after serving as chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee during the 116th and 117th Congresses. He is currently a member of the House Financial Services Committee.
Shortly after being nominated, Tom, a Republican, withdrew from the race for Speaker of the US House of Representatives. He is the third candidate who failed to win over enough members of his own party to take over the majority in the House.
By deciding to withdraw from the race, Mr. Emmer took Republicans back to where they were when they first began trying to identify a candidate who could win the support of nearly all of the party’s lawmakers.
Byron Donalds of Florida, Chuck Fleischmann of Tennessee, Mark Green of Tennessee, Kevin Hern of Oklahoma, Mike Johnson of Louisiana and Roger Williams of Texas are the six new candidates announced by Republican lawmakers during a meeting Tuesday night.

Tripp Emmer

Tripp graduated from Hamline University in 2016. But in 2010, Tripp was charged with underage drinking at age 19 and had to pay $185 in fines and costs. And yet, since he started working with Viking Forest Products in 2016, he has done exceptionally well as a timber trader. He was also a brilliant ice hockey player, following in his father’s footsteps.
Tripp is currently employed as a lumber merchant at Viking Forest Products since 2016.
