Meet Cathy Pagliaro, star of The Bachelor, mother of Joey Graziadei

Joey Graziadei, a fan favorite from Charity Lawson’s season of The Bachelor, has been nominated as the leading man of The Bachelor Season 28. He is the son of Cathy Pagliaro.

Joey is set to debut in 2024, Jesse Palmer said on Monday’s Team Finals. For Joey, the honor was “surreal.” “It’s sinking in very slowly, but I’m doing my best to stay present and enjoy it, but this is crazy,” Joey said. “I mean, I’ll be the first person to say this is wild. I didn’t expect this at all, I didn’t know that this is what my life is turning to at this moment. So yeah, crazy stuff, but I’m excited.”

Jesse questioned Joey about his readiness for love after breaking up with Lawson. “I’m more ready than I was at that moment,” Graziadei said. “For me it was simple, you have to take some time to make up your mind. Watching Dotun and Charity’s relationship was enough for me.”

Joey said the breakup ended up “opening up a part of me that wanted something so bad.”

He went on to tell Jesse about what he wants in a future partner: “Someone who is just them that I can honestly partner with. I want someone who challenges me. I want someone I can challenge. I just want someone to spend my life with. I just want someone to be my person.”

Born in 1995, Joey turned 28 in June 2023.

Joey was a professional tennis player at Butterfield Country Club from 2008 to 2011. In November 2011, he started working for Ralph Lauren as a sales associate until January 2016. In December 2014, he was a tennis professional for Hilton Hotels & Resorts for two months.

Princeville Makai Golf Club hired Joey in May 2016 as a Golf Shop Attendant. His work there lasted 4 months.

He also started working at Bad Rhino Social Media Marketing as a social media marketing intern. In April 2017, Joey joined Princeville Makai Golf Club as the Head Tennis Professional. After working for almost a year and a half, he joined Kukuiula Development Co LLC in the same role.

Furthermore, in August 2020, Joey joined Comdata as a Sales Development Representative and a Construction Development SDR. He quit there in May 2021. After six months, he worked at Paylocity as Account Executive, Emerging Markets.

After leaving Paylocity, he joined Ensworth School as a tennis teacher where he worked for 10 months.

Since 2023, Joey has been working at Kukuiula Development Co LLC as an Ike’ Ola Ambassador (Lifestyle and Experience Ambassador). He was tasked with building relationships with members, as well as guests, that would encourage engagement in the various activities available within the Club and throughout the island of Kaua`i. Regarding his education, Joey attended Spring-Ford High School and then West Chester University in Pennsylvania.

Cathy Pagliaro’s business

From 1980 to 1992, Cathy Pagliaro worked for Macy’s. Two years later, she joined the former Bloomingdale’s retail store manager. She also served as general manager of the Boca Raton Bloomingdale’s.

In 1998, Cathy was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. “You have anger, you have denial and you have ‘Why me?'” she told the Sun Sentinel. “You’re finally coming to a point of acceptance.”

She was also honored by the MS Society as Woman of the Year for devoting time and energy to the agency’s fundraising efforts for the disease.

In September 1998, Cathy discovered that the needles in her arm were a sign that something terrible was happening to her body. She didn’t even intend to go to the doctor that day. But her colleagues persisted. It was the second year her company had helped the National MS Society of South Florida host the fashion show, and the luncheon and fashion show were nine weeks away.

The lunch also marked the first time Cathy told a group of strangers that she had an illness that, in the worst case scenario, could paralyze her or cause her nervous system to shut down completely. “There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when she was talking,” said Carrie Schulman, an MS Society volunteer. “You don’t know what’s going to happen, that’s what’s scary about it,” Cathy said. “I don’t know where in my body it will hit. I do not know.”

Cathy’s body does not currently, and probably will not for several years, show any obvious symptoms of illness other than an occasional headache. Cathy has no time to cry anymore. At the beginning of this year, she made the decision that she did not have time for work. The life priorities of the former director have changed and now she spends most of her time with her children.

Cathy and her ex-husband Nick planned to bring the whole family to lunch that year on a Tuesday afternoon at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale. As her ex-husband, children and parents looked on, Cathy accepted the society’s Woman of the Year award.
