Joey Graziadei, a fan favorite from Charity Lawson’s season of The Bachelor, has been nominated as the leading man of The Bachelor Season 28. He is the son of Cathy Pagliaro.
Joey is set to debut in 2024, Jesse Palmer said on Monday’s Team Finals. For Joey, the honor was “surreal.” “It’s sinking in very slowly, but I’m doing my best to stay present and enjoy it, but this is crazy,” Joey said. “I mean, I’ll be the first person to say this is wild. I didn’t expect this at all, I didn’t know that this is what my life is turning to at this moment. So yeah, crazy stuff, but I’m excited.”
Jesse questioned Joey about his readiness for love after breaking up with Lawson. “I’m more ready than I was at that moment,” Graziadei said. “For me it was simple, you have to take some time to make up your mind. Watching Dotun and Charity’s relationship was enough for me.”
Joey said the breakup ended up “opening up a part of me that wanted something so bad.”
He went on to tell Jesse about what he wants in a future partner: “Someone who is just them that I can honestly partner with. I want someone who challenges me. I want someone I can challenge. I just want someone to spend my life with. I just want someone to be my person.”

Joey was a professional tennis player at Butterfield Country Club from 2008 to 2011. In November 2011, he started working for Ralph Lauren as a sales associate until January 2016. In December 2014, he was a tennis professional for Hilton Hotels & Resorts for two months.

The lunch also marked the first time Cathy told a group of strangers that she had an illness that, in the worst case scenario, could paralyze her or cause her nervous system to shut down completely. “There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when she was talking,” said Carrie Schulman, an MS Society volunteer. “You don’t know what’s going to happen, that’s what’s scary about it,” Cathy said. “I don’t know where in my body it will hit. I do not know.”
Cathy’s body does not currently, and probably will not for several years, show any obvious symptoms of illness other than an occasional headache. Cathy has no time to cry anymore. At the beginning of this year, she made the decision that she did not have time for work. The life priorities of the former director have changed and now she spends most of her time with her children.
Cathy and her ex-husband Nick planned to bring the whole family to lunch that year on a Tuesday afternoon at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale. As her ex-husband, children and parents looked on, Cathy accepted the society’s Woman of the Year award.
