Meet Kaitlin Becker, Meekah On Blippi
Along with Cashae Monya, actress Kaitlin Becker also stars as the popular character Meekah who appears on the YouTube show Blippi.
Speaking about how Kaitlin landed the role, the actress shared with the Children’s Media Association that early on when COVID started “I got an email from Moonbug Productions that I’d never heard of before.”
She added, ” ‘Hey, some people who know you from Sunny Side Up are recommending you for this character we’re creating. Can we meet?’ And I was like, man, kid stuff. Like New York, you know, I don’t know what my problem is, but they said ‘Can we please just meet with you?’ “
They met through Zoom because of COVID, they asked her if she had heard of Blippi, which she had never heard of before. They wanted his best friend Blippi. When she was visiting Target, she saw Blippi printed on underwear. She went to LA to meet with the team after testing her character, among other things she was told she would be flown to LA for 10 to 12 weeks.
Kaitlin then found out that she was going to film Blippa’s tree house with the Amazon children.
Meekah first appeared on the YouTube channel Blippi as a supporting character. She quickly gained popularity with the series, which opened up other possibilities for her. She began appearing in both the popular Amazon spin-off series Blippi’s Treehouse and the actual Blippi TV series, both of which debuted in 2021. Additionally, the character appeared in the 2023 film Blippi’s Big Dino Adventure.
A Meekah-specific YouTube channel with a similar focus on education for children was launched in 2022. The platform currently has over 100,000 subscribers. Even the person has a dedicated Instagram account with almost 20,000 followers. That’s not all though. Plus, Meekah has arrived on Netflix.
A Netflix series called Meekah has been added to the streaming service after being approved in 2022. The first season has 28 episodes. Meekah is the main character, but Blippi often appears in cameos. His season wasn’t renewed until August 2023. It would be stunning if it was canceled, given how well-liked the character is.
