The vote count ended with a total of 2,69,339 examined votes and 20,979 invalid votes.
Telugu Desam candidate Kancharla was leading from the first round of counting. However, he failed to get 50 percent of the total votes cast during first priority.
After the second priority vote count, Kancharla got 1,24,181 votes and his closest opponent Shyam Prasad got 90,071 votes.
