Kartik Aryan reacts to his morphed video endorsing Congress candidate Kamal Nath

Actor Kartik Aryan took to X to address the controversy surrounding a repurposed video of him endorsing Congress candidate Kamal Nath in the upcoming assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. He shared the original ad and denounced the widely circulated video as fake.

The video, which was shared by Disney+ Hotstar to promote the free availability of ongoing Cricket World Cup matches and a few select movies on mobile devices, has been converted into video campaigns. It was dubbed and edited to create the illusion that the actor was endorsing a Congressional candidate.

As the video continues, two people can be seen on the billboard expressing their excitement over Congress leader Kamal Nath’s election promises. As the video goes on, the woman can be seen outlining other promises for women. Towards the end, a thoroughly edited video shows Kartik Aryan saying, “Mai bhi to Congressi hun [I am also a Congress supporter].” The video ends with the remaining election promises of the candidates for Congress.

In the original video, Kartik Aryan arrives for departure from the airport. As the video goes on, the two people point out that the ICC Men’s World Cup can be enjoyed for free on mobile devices via an OTT platform. Additionally, the video features a woman highlighting additional benefits offered by the app. The original commercial was released by the OTT platform Disney+Hotstar on September 23 on YouTube.

Kartik Aryan shared the original ad on X and wrote, “This is the real ad @DisneyPlusHS The rest is fake.”
