Union Public Service Commission is India’s most important central recruitment agency. He is responsible for recruiting all Indian Government ‘A’ Group officers through various examinations. UPSC is one of the few organizations in India operating with full autonomy and freedom. Articles 315 to 323, Part XIV. The constitution contains detailed provisions on the composition of the UPSC.

UPSC consists of the President and members appointed by the President of India. The President and members of UPSC hold office for a term of 6 years or until age 65. Sir Ross Barker was the first president of UPSC, joining in October 1926 and holding the office until August 1932.
