The car, driven by Katz, veered off the road Thursday and struck a tree in the middle of North Murieta Boulevard near Olivina Avenue.

According to Livermore police, the tree fell and blocked southbound lanes for about 30 minutes.
The Livermore Police Department has not released additional details of the fatal crash, including the cause of the crash. The authorities appear to be still investigating the case.
Mr. Katz sustained serious injuries during the accident and was taken to the hospital. However, he failed to survive and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
