During the series, Lorraine hinted that the celebrity in question was a popular theater star.

An image of an exotic beach also popped up on the screen – another nod to the contestant’s TV past.

Speaking on the ITV show, Amber said: “Today is the first day I feel real.

“I don’t really know how to skate, my high school went skating and I didn’t.

“I’m 27 and I’m still asking for my parents’ permission.”

The Love Island star said she was feeling “nerves” ahead of the series but said she was thrilled to be taking part, six years after shooting to fame on the ITV2 dating show.

Amber said: “I’d definitely say I’m an adrenaline junkie, but I’m getting more and more nervous the older I get and hopefully I can contain them, I don’t want the adrenaline to get the better of me.”

She said, “I can count the number of times I’ve skated on the fingers of one hand.”

The star added: “I’ll be in safe hands with an amazing professional – who I don’t know.”

“I was delighted and overjoyed even when I received an invitation to Dance on Ice because I had been absent for a long time. I thought the ship had sailed.

“When I spoke to the producers they said I was doing really well in the industry and I thought all my hard work had paid off.”

He will be in good company with a number of other famous faces whose presence has already been confirmed.

Former S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt (42) also applied.

A source said: “Hannah can’t wait to go on Dancing On Ice and is working hard in training.

“Hannah has had a tough 12 months and she hopes appearing on the show will give her a much-needed boost.

“Hannah is an experienced actress and a great dancer, so there’s a good chance she could go far on the show, provided she can skate.”

Coronation Street actress Claire Sweeney also announced she has signed up for This Morning on Wednesday.

She told Holly Willoughby and Ben Shephard: “I’m really looking forward to going to the rink with my son and actually being able to skate and not having to use the penguins they give you to help you stay upright.”

She added: “I had to wear my boots around the house… I haven’t stepped on ice yet.

“I’m entering the unknown here. I don’t know how I’m going to feel. But I’m very excited.

“I’m nervous and excited to do it.”

It comes after boxing champion Ricky Hatton, 44, was revealed as the first confirmed celebrity.

Appearing on This Morning earlier this week, he said: “If I can hold my nerve in the boxing ring, I should be able to hold my nerve in the ice rink. I like to take on new challenges and keep busy.”

Holly Willoughby will host and Stephen Mulhern is rumored to replace Phillip Schofield as co-host.
