Career of Mae Martin
In Canada, Martin began her professional career as a member of the “Young and Useless” comedy troupe. She worked at the box office of the comedy club The Second City and did stand-up comedy. At the age of 16, Martin was the youngest nominee for the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award. The Baroness von Sketch Show, a Canadian sketch comedy program, featured Martin’s writing. Martin moved to London in 2011 in search of a fresh start. After falling in love with the city, he spent some time working dead ends before deciding to focus on British comedy.
The BBC Radio 4 program A Guide to 21st Century Sexuality on BBC Radio was based on her show Mae Martin: Us from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2015. She appeared in LOL: Last One Laughing Canada in 2022. Later that year she played Grace Saint in the HBO Max series The Flight Attendant.
