Meet Michele Jones, wife of WACO survivor David Thibodeau

Michele Jones was the spirit wife of WACO survivor David Thibodeau. She married him after Koresh asked them to marry in the camp.

According to David, he met Koresh through their shared interest in music in 1991. At the time, he had just graduated from Los Angeles’s Musicians Institute of Technology in drumming. Then one day Koresh invited him to stay in the camp with the community and marry Michele, and he obeyed.

So, after the siege, David began to vocalize his experiences both inside the camp and during the siege. He even wrote two books entitled “Waco: A Survivor’s Story” and “A Place Called Waco,” the latter of which led him to become a consultant for the Waco: American Apocalypse series.

“I always knew that there was some kind of invisible force guiding me through life,” David said in the documentary. No wonder, he was intrigued when the head of the sect told him, “You don’t even realize how every day there are forces that clear your path and where you will be.”

But David was initially not interested in the whole new spike of the religious movement. He did not believe that their leader was the Messiah. It was only because of friendly, warm people like Steve that he joined their Christian band.

However, he was in the Waco, Texas compound until the very end! He escaped only after a large fire broke out on April 19, 1993 (the 51st day of heavy conflict).

Today, David strongly expresses his position on this siege. He also ran a website called Waco Survivors, where he archived media posts related to the conflict while offering his candid opinion to paint a clearer picture of the whole thing.

Who were the parents of Michele Jones?

Michele Jones was born to Perry Dale Jones and Mary Bella Rogers Jones.

Her father, Perry, was shot and died later that day on February 28, 1993. He was 64 at the time.

As for her mother, Mary survived the Waco siege. She later breathed her last at the age of 82 on June 21, 2014 in Waco, McLennan County, Texas, USA.

According to reports, Mary helped care for some of the elderly women in a mobile home away from Mount Carmel during the loss of her husband’s life.

Siblings of Michele Jones

Michele Jones was the youngest of her siblings.

Her brother David Michael Jones also died in a fire in 1993. He was 38 at the time.

On the other hand, her brother Stephen Paul Jones survived and passed away only in January 2010, at the age of 53.

As for her sister, Rachel Olivia Susan Koresh, you may know all about her because she was featured in Waco: American Apocalypse.

For those who don’t know, Rachel was one of the people who perished in the Waco Fire Siege. She was the only legitimate wife of leader David Koresh and was 23 years old when the siege took place.

The show mentioned that Rachel was 14 when she married Koresh. She then gave birth to his two children named Star and Cyrus. Apparently, she didn’t mind her husband sleeping with other women on the property. But as Koresh taught his parishioners that he was destined to father 24 children who would eventually become the rulers of the world after the apocalypse, Rachel made peace with herself.

Another reason why Rachel was cool with what was going on was because she was born into the church and that was all she had ever known.

Sadly, like Michele, her sister and both of her children died in the fire and are buried at Restland Cemetery in McLennan County.
