Viewers of Sins of Our Mother should know the charges Lori Vallow was facing (murdering her two children and her fifth husband’s ex-wife), but what they may not know is that members of Lori’s family, including her sister-in-law Nicole, contacted the police after Alex Cox (Nicole’s brother-in-law) shot and killed Lori’s fourth husband, Charles Vallow.
In a reported letter written by Nicole to the police, she says that prior to all the incidents, the Cox family severed their relationship with them and even removed them from social media.
Because? Well, according to Nicole, it was because they knew that Nicole and Adam “knew the truth and weren’t lying.”
“Lori and Alex think they are immortal beings. Lori does podcasts and is a follower of Julie Row. This is like a cult. For the past several months, she had been telling family members that Charles’s body was possessed by a demon and that it was not Charles and that he had to die. She told this to my son Zac. Zac called my husband and me to tell us how crazy he was,” Nicole explained of the situation.
Furthermore, Nicole also revealed that Lori once made up a lie saying that Charles was cheating on her and took his clothes, credit card and left him stranded somewhere.
Later, Charles calls Nicole and Adam, confused that she left him and the kids like this.
But this was just one of the many secrets that Nicole discovered.
Among other things, Nicole also shared that Lori believed her daughter Tylee was a dark spirit. And surprisingly, Nicole agreed! Because Tylee supposedly often insulted her mother, she hated her father for no reason and was just lazy and spoiled.
Now coming to the murder of Charles, Nicole shared that the morning she was shot, she texted Adam that Alex was there with a gun. And Adam texted her begging her to be careful because she knows her family is up to something.
Nicole and Adam never heard from Charles again.

But despite choosing not to embellish the Netflix documentary, Adam shared his story with ABC’s 20/20 in an episode titled “Adam & Evil.”
According to Adam, he was “a normal guy living a normal life” until he started asking awkward questions about his family. He explained that he knew something was up with Lori and Alex and was interrupted when he started calling attention to the strange and highly suspicious behavior of his brothers.
After being treated as an outcast from the family, Adam felt so lonely if he wanted to “crawl into a ball and never have to work and hide somewhere.” But since he worked in radio for a long time, he didn’t want to destroy his legacy! “It’s like acting, they say the show must go on,” he added.
