When asked about the Bachelor Nation couple being together, Rycroft was quick to respond.
The group met while filming The Bachelor season 16, and their quick engagement was shown during the event in November 2020. Earlier this month, we confirmed that the reality stars had split, shortly before Moss broke the news on social media.
“I wanted [to] sharing with you that Clare and I have decided to go our separate ways,” the former soccer player wrote on Instagram on Jan. 19. “We appreciate the love and support we’ve received from so many individuals, but this is the safest choice for us at this time.”
Days after, Crawley claimed she “was aware of the ‘joint’ post at exactly the same time” because they were lovers. “Speaking for myself, my goals with this relationship have always been very clear, so the truth is I’m devastated. This is not exactly what I expected or hoped for and I’m still trying to process it,” she wrote in an Instagram post. from her, admitting that her relationship with Moss “wasn’t ideal”.
Watching the duo’s whirlwind engagement, Rycroft told us she’s not convinced “they have the foundations” to last forever. Crawley had previously defended her relationship using Moss amid criticism that they had moved too quickly — but Rycroft remained suspicious.
“We haven’t seen deep romantic conversations and … there’s a big difference involving a 39-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man,” the former Dancing with the Stars alum told us. “Whether [Dale] do you want to get married and have children? Maybe… but he can also kind of feel what Bachelor Nation can do to someone and say, ‘You know what? I don’t want to get tied down now and I want to experience all of this.’ I mean, the pessimist in me says it probably won’t work.”
As the fallout from the Bachelor Nation breakup continued to make headlines, Moss took to Instagram Story to reassure fans that the decision to split “didn’t come out of nowhere.” Earlier this month, Origins only revealed that the former couple is just too different for it to work.
“Clare and Dale didn’t agree on a lot of things long-term when they sat down and actually talked about the future of their relationship. They’ve been fighting a lot lately,” the insider said. “Clare started a series of arguments, and Dale would try not to rock the boat too much, but it became too much for both of them. They finally realized that maybe they had gone too fast after all.”
