Mercy Ramya is currently a collector in Tamil Nadu. The newly elected government of Tamil Nadu has promised to reorganize its division of up to 16 IAS officials in the state, which has resulted in significant administrative changes. As a result, most senior officers were reassigned to new duties, while a few were given additional responsibilities.

Mercy Ramya is another IAS officer who will take up a new role as Joint Commissioner for Trade Taxes in Coimbatore.
Several other officers such as Kalaiselvi Mohan and R Seethalakshmi have also been transferred to new positions. On a positive note, M Lakshmi has been promoted to general secretary in labor welfare and skills development which is a significant achievement in her career.
