“I immediately fell in love with him,” she explained through tears. “At the end of our date, we kissed and he had this goofy, happy smile. I just flew home.”
As of late September 2018, they were officially a couple. After that, the two practically lived together.
The following year they got engaged and on October 17, 2020 they finally got married.
“We had a wedding at my parents’ house in Homosassa and the moms planned it because we didn’t know what we were doing,” Michael opened up about his wedding. “It was a wedding infected with the COVID-19 virus, so there was a lot of confusion. But all we cared about was each other. It was the best day of my life.”
After Steven’s tragic death, Michael started a GoFundMe which raised $27,683 at the time of his death.
Michael also took to his FB and wrote: “Today our worst fears came true. They stole my husband and my best friend. Steve Cozzi was the kindest, funniest, brightest man I have ever met. I knew he was the one from the day we went on our first date. I always wanted to protect him and make him happy. I know I’ll see him again one day.”
