A PHOTO of what appears to be a headless dog has gone viral on social media, but there’s more to the story.
The picture of the pet is actually an optical illusion.

The shocking optical illusion was created while the owner was trying to take a normal picture of a dog that had recently had one of its front legs amputated.
But just as the owner fired, the dog turned to lick himself.
That’s why a dog’s surgical scar looks like it’s where the animal’s head should be.
But many were still confused by the image.
“Still can’t get my head around it,” said one commenter on Twitter.
“How does he eat?” someone asked below a video on Facebook discussing the image.
“That’s not even funny or cute,” said another commenter.
Another Twitter user shared a picture of the dog sitting normally.
The small black and brown dog has floppy, oversized ears and large brown eyes.
But this puppy is not the only animal that managed to create an optical illusion.
Only those with perfect eyesight can spot the tiny turtle hiding in this video of the animal’s habitat.
Iggy the Tortoise (@iggythetortoise) has almost 2,000 followers on TikTok.
But he asked for some privacy while filming this video.
The turtle hides in one of his small caves.
The cat also did a great job hiding from her human in this photo.
If viewers look closely, they should be able to spot the kitty hiding in the laundry basket under the owner’s desk.
Only viewers with 20/20 vision can spot the strange penguin in this picture.
There are more than 100 flightless birds in the picture, so it could take a while.
