The Holby City star’s brother has told how his wife had an affair with his carer while the couple held him captive.

The duo also separated Tom – the brother of actress Kate Somerset-Holmes – from his family and starved him on a diet of crisps until he weighed just 6st 10lbs.
But Tom, who has cerebral palsy and needs 24-hour care, says that wasn’t even the worst part of his ordeal.
Tom had been married to Sarah for four years when she brought in burly Webb as a carer in 2016.
He soon realized that the couple had been having an affair while keeping him stuck in the house.
He told MailOnline: “There were a few times when I asked her if she was unhappy and told her we could go our separate ways amicably.
“But she always said ‘No, everything is fine’. Besides what they did to me, that’s the worst thing — that she didn’t just leave.
“He stayed with us on weekends, and he and Sarah would go out for hours, leaving me alone. When I asked if a friend could visit me, George refused.”
Earlier this year, Somerset-How and Webb were found guilty of keeping a person in slavery after a four-week trial at Portsmouth Crown Court – the first case of its kind.
The court heard how Tom, an intelligent history graduate from a wealthy family, was kept in bed 90 per cent of the time and “lived like a dog”.
He was only allowed to shower once a week, and only chips and a sandwich were left for him to eat.
Tom was forced to lie in bed as he heard the carer having sex with his wife.
He said: “I was in the dark for four years, with only a night lamp.
“They gave me just enough food and drink to last me, but that was it.”
Tom’s ordeal ended when sister Kate managed to “ambushed” Webb in an “ambush” to gain access to her brother inside the “house of hell” in Chichester, West Sussex.
The actress – who also appeared in Silent Witness – revealed her brother was “disoriented and very, very thin” and hadn’t brushed his teeth in a year.
Tom explained: “The social worker came in and I could hear Sarah saying, ‘What’s going on?’ — and they told her that I asked for a break.
“As I was leaving, Sarah said, ‘See you later mate’ as if we’d never been in a relationship.”
“Within 36 hours of me leaving, she texted me asking to talk. I just blocked her”.
Tom now lives in a residential facility and is preparing to move to a new apartment to be close to his family.
He said: “The psychological and emotional damage will never go away. Most nights I can’t sleep more than three hours.
“I’m a lot more twisted than I used to be, and there’s been a lot of muscle wasting.”
He added: “People have asked me if I miss him. No, I don’t know. But I miss what my marriage was supposed to be.”
