N-power Fraud: ICPC Releases D’banj Three Days After Arrest

Legendary Nigerian Afrobeat artist, Oladapo Oyebanjo, also known as D’banj, has been released by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) after spending three days in custody.

D’banj was arrested weeks after he turned down an ICPC offer for questioning on Tuesday in the bustling Nigerian city of Lagos.

On Thursday, the anti-corruption agency granted the former Mo Hits team member free on bail on the condition that he can be summoned for further investigation at a later date.

D’banja was detained by CIPC for allegedly defrauding the Nigerian government of unemployment benefits through a scheme known as N-power.
