NASCAR driver Bobby East was born to parents Robert “Bob” East and Janice East. They had it in Torrance, a coastal city in Los Angeles County. He moved to Brownsburg, Indiana to continue his racing career driving at Illiana Motor Speedway.
Bobby East was fatally stabbed at a gas station in Orange County, California. Bobby was found with a stab wound to the chest when police arrived at a gas station in the Orange County city of Westminster shortly before 6 a.m., according to the police department.
He was transported to a trauma center where he died of his injuries. Trent William Milsap, on Orange County parole, has been named a suspect by Westminster Police.
Trent “became confrontational” when the West County SWAT team arrived at the Anaheim apartment complex Friday to serve an arrest warrant. A police dog was then brought in and eventually Milsap was shot by police, according to the agency.
Police said Saturday they don’t know the motive for the attack that killed East. Milsap was initially described by Westminster police as a homeless man who was staying at hotels in Westminster, as well as in neighboring Garden Grove and Anaheim.
Westminster police said in a statement that they recognized Bobby as a former NASCAR driver. He is from San Dimas, a city in eastern Los Angeles County, according to the Borough of Westminster.

Robert “Bob” East is the father of pilot Bobby East. Born in October 1951, Bob is 70 years old.
One of the most famous car builders and team managers in USAC racing history is Bob East. The strong Nine Racing team won more than 150 events and 12 USAC National Championships under his leadership. Josh Wise and Ralph Potter are two of the Bob East midgets who won the championship in the early 1990s and in 2005, respectively. Most recently, from 2010 to 2012, Darren Hagen won three consecutive USAC Midget National Series Pavement Championships on the Beast.
He founded B. East Enterprises in 1988 and released what is perhaps the best chassis for USAC track racing today. Since 1991, the Beast chassis has won every Silver Crown National Championship and USAC National Championship for Nine Racing midget teams. West Coast drag racing was where East began his racing career, placing first in both CRA and USAC meet.
