Disgraced chief Rubiales sparked outrage when his country won the Women’s World Cup earlier this month after he kissed Hermoso without her consent.
Rubiales’ actions sent shockwaves through the football world, with a number of people calling for him to step down and Spanish prosecutors opening a criminal investigation.
He has already been handed a 90-day suspension by Fifa, which could eventually lead to the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid being banned from the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Spain’s players are refusing to be called up for next month’s internationals after the entire coaching staff – bar manager Jorge Vilda – quit.
However, the Spanish FA claimed earlier this week that the action was consensual – and said Hermoso had instigated the contact by lifting Rubiales off the ground.
A number of photos were also published, although none of them showed the moment when Rubiales kissed her.
The bizarre statement, which claimed the president was only holding Hermosa “so he wouldn’t fall,” read: “It is obvious that the twisting of the player’s body corresponds to the force of lifting Mr. President.
“Mr President’s feet were reportedly lifted off the ground as a result of the player’s action.

“The evidence is convincing. Mr. President did not lie. The RFEF and Mr. President will demonstrate every single lie that is being spread by either someone on behalf of the player or, if applicable, the player himself.”
However, fresh footage has emerged that refutes those claims.
Taken from the crowd, it shows Rubiales lifting his own weight off the ground after leaping into Hermos’s arms and being picked up by no one.
He then kisses the World Cup winner before the celebrations continue.
But Rubiales’ mother continues to fight his corner, locking herself in a church and going on hunger strike over the “inhumane witch hunt” against her son.
Angeles Bejar said: “They are doing something to my son that he does not deserve.
“There is no sexual aggression because there was consent from both parties.
“My son is not capable of harming anyone. As a mother, I ask for everyone’s understanding because this is a situation that could affect anyone.”
