Four months after graduating, Nicole got a job as a gunner, a job responsible for maintaining and operating a unit’s weapons, and went off to war. Her first engagement was in Baghdad, Iraq, in 2003. She also worked toward a bachelor’s degree in business administration, all paid for by Army Tuition Assistance.

Later, Nicole was sent to Afghanistan. It was then that she came up with an idea and she started working on creating a product. To promote her product, she launched a website and made her first sale in February 2012. Four months later, she had sold $75,000 worth of product.

Nicole left active duty in 2012 after 13 years of active duty. She retired with the rank of sergeant. After leaving the military, she worked at an engineering firm in Houston to finance her business.
