prom queens Star Leonie Biggs and her husband Nigel Biggs met in 2002. In the summer of the year, the two wanderers went in different directions to see the world. Leonie’s plan was to travel to Melbourne and Nigel to Canberra. Their paths crossed and they have been together ever since.
After eight years together, Nigel and Leonie exchanged wedding vows in January 2010. On their 12th anniversary in January 2022, Leonie posted a photo she calls a “treasure” because it was the first photo ever taken of them (using a disposable camera, so before the digital age).
It was also the first gift Nigel gave her without a coin. In the caption of her photo, she wrote: “It was very emotional because it was her ‘forget me not’ just before we split up to start working in different states (or so we thought). Also, it was the first time I realized that I really loved someone… only then I didn’t have the courage to say it (it took me a few more years). Luckily, I’m more expressive these days…for better or worse…Jokes aside…”
He concluded the post by writing: “To my friend, my constant person, my Biggsy-boy, the father of our beautiful son… I love you and thank you for being my best friend and an amazing father. She rose to the position of Senior Account Manager at HOSTPLUS after four years of employment there. Her next role was as an IBD Associate at Goldman Sachs, but after a year and a half there, she changed employers and was appointed UK Head of Operations at Alternative Investment Management Products (UK) Limited.
She started working at PwC LLP in 2014 as a management consultant – asset management. She still works there, judging by her LinkedIn profile, and she’s also a lifestyle model and entrepreneurial philanthropist.
