A modified version of the shoes that Kipchoge wore in October, when he became the first athlete to run a marathon in two hours, will be on the market this summer. According to the manufacturer, Nike is compliant with this version of the new World Athletics rules.

“We are very pleased that the Vaporfly and Alphafly NEXT will be legal to continue,” Nike said in a statement. “We will continue with the World Athletics meeting to discuss the new rules and regulations.”
