Elena and Stefan, together again!
Instead of watching Super Bowl LV on Sunday, February 7, the group decided to hit the slopes of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village, Wyoming. Wesley, 38, posted several photos and videos from the snow trip on Instagram, including an action shot of the celebrity snowboarding and selfies he took with the band.
“My kind of superbowl sunday with @nina @shaunwhite @inesdrmn,” he captioned his article.
White, 34, uploaded a video to his Instagram Stories of Dobrev, 32, “playing in the snow.” The clip shows the Degrassi alum falling into the snow while snowboarding.
While the duo seemed to have fun during the chilly getaway, they weren’t always so close.
“Paul and I didn’t get along at the beginning of the show. I admired Paul Wesley, I didn’t like Paul Wesley,” the Perks of Being a Wallflower actress said on Candice King and Kayla Ewell’s “Directionally Challenged” podcast in 2019. “I remember that everyone would come up to me after the show aired and ask, ‘Are you and Paul dating in real life?’ Everyone believed we had such great chemistry. Now I understand that there’s a fine line between love and hate and we hated each other so much it read like love, but… We didn’t really get along for the first five weeks of filming.”
Wesley expressed a similar sentiment later that year at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. “We had a total fight [that the ] The first few years in the sense that we were just getting on each other’s nerves, and then we developed this great friendship,” he previously explained. “It’s like this nice, happy ending.”
The former friends got together for the last time in September 2020 to spend some sweet time with their dogs. Dobrev and Wesley were joined by his own wife of 28 years.
Wesley married de Ramon in 2019 after splitting from his Killer Movie co-star Torrey DeVitt in 2013. He also dated his former Vampire Diaries co-star Phoebe Tonkin on and off from 2013 to 2017.
Us Weekly broke the news in April 2020 that Dobrev was dating White. The duo was in a position to bond while they were quarantined together amid the coronavirus pandemic.
