The minister of Health Olivier Veran has called this Saturday at the High council public health (HCSP) to propose “within 48 hours of a revision of the rules in derogation of limitation of various treatments such as hydroxychloroquine, after the publication of a study pointing to its ineffectiveness and its risks for patients with Covid-19.

“Following the publication in The Lancet of a study alert on the ineffectiveness and risks of some treatments of the Covid-19 including hydroxychloroquine, I grabbed the HCSP for the analysis and offers me within 48 hours to a revision of the overriding rules of limitation,” said the minister in a tweet.

And another study, with data covering over 96 000 patients in total, published Friday in The Lancet, to which Olivier Véran alluded to in his tweet, has concluded that neither chloroquine or HCQ, shows effective against the Covid-19 in-patients. According to this study, these molecules increase the risk of death and cardiac arrhythmia.
