Owen Knight in Survivor 43
Like all the other contestants on Survivor, Owen Knight is a huge fan of the reality show. He had been watching that game since it was a worldwide phenomenon at the time. “I specifically remember watching the second season with my family. I used to dream about myself, you know, running through the water, seeing my name in the checkout line and all that,” he recalled.
Fortunately, his “dream” came true in 2022.
Since being selected for the new era of Survivor, Owen admitted that it was “extraordinarily exciting” to know that he “had no idea what was going to happen”. But he already knew that viewers would compare him to former contestant Wu Hwang because of his long hair. But they would be wrong to do so, because Owen is, by their own admission, cunning and strategic.
So in terms of his game plan, Owen believed that he could work with anyone. However, rather than want a “meat shield”, Owen said that he would prefer a “brain shield” in the game. Because he would wear glasses and be who he was, people might perceive him as “a more cunning and clever schemer” than he actually was. “So I want to have someone smart in front of me and work with them and come up with some fun plans here,” he explained.
Overall, Owen’s sense of humor, his ability to relate to just about anyone, his drive and persistence were like Gabby from David vs. Goliath. But from in-game habits like managing your threat level, being involved in a lot of what’s going on, but not being the number one target, we’d say Owen played as Adam Klein, the winner of the show’s 33rd season.

Owen Knight’s Parents
Owen Knight was adopted in November 1992 by his parents Alison Holt and Christopher Knight, who married in September 1986.
His mother, Alison, is the author of “Slubrious Climate: Five Generations and Their Relationship to the Fairhope Single Tax Colony.” While her father is an architect and artist based in Fairhope, Alabama.
In 2022, Alison (birthday: February 26) and Christopher were 67 and 74 years old, respectively.
Sadly, Owen’s maternal grandmother, Bonnie Holt, passed away on November 28, 2011 at the age of 91.

Owen Knight’s work
Owen Knight has worked at Tulane University for more than 10 years. He initially joined the university in 2013 as “guidance team leader” and after rising through the ranks, in 2022 Owen worked there as director of admissions.
Prior to Tulane, Owen was a Southern Tide College Ambassador, Vice President of the Tulane Green Wave Ambassadors, and Georgetown Cupcake Supervisor.
But while this work may not be as extraordinary as that of his fellow Survivor 43 contestants, Owen believed that his works prepared him more for Survivor. “Work in the selective admissions office is very hard. But I also have to bring a lot of humanity to it, focusing on relationships. And I was able to work with a wide, wide range of people. It’s not just about the students; their parents too. So I think that prepared me a lot for this game,” he explained.
Owen Knight’s Wife
Owen Knight’s future wife’s name is Sammy Stevens. The two met in June 2018, after Sammy hopped on a plane to visit Owen, and had an amazing year “filled with travel, belly button shots, and Lilly’s Cafe.”
Fast forward to September 2022, Owen popped the question to the love of his life. But it wasn’t until a week later that Owen broke the news of the engagement on his IG. “Sammy, I can’t wait for a lifetime of more laughs and adventures with you! Every day together is a gift, whether we’re exploring a new city, sharing good food, or snuggling up to watch a reality show. I want everything. I love you,” he wrote.
Owen’s fiancée and future wife, Sammy Stevens, has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee Haslam College of Business. For nearly 12 years, she worked as a regional admissions representative at the University of Tennessee before finally transitioning to Tulane University as an employer advisor in December 2021.
