The Chantel Family: Meet Pedro Jimen Sr., Pedro Jimen’s Father
In season 3 “La familia Chantel”, viewers of the series learn that Pedro Jimeno intends to learn more about his father and why his father left Pedro’s family and where he is now. In search of more information about his father, he meets his cousin Niurka who is in South Carolina.

He was joined by other brothers of Pedro Sr. and their children to spend quality time. Niurka further praised his uncle and revealed that he had a nice childhood because he was a wonderful family man. But Pedro had a hard time understanding how his father could have been a good “family man” when he abandoned his family.
Niurka also revealed that she never told other members of her family about Pedro or her sister. No one knew of his existence, literally no one in the family. So Pedro decided to meet with his mother and his grandmother to learn more about his father based on what he knew at the time.

Pedro Jimeno Sr. and Lidia Jimeno were probably married less than 10 years. As the story goes, one day Pedro Sr. saw Lidia walking home from school and they fell in love with her. Pedro’s mother then discovered that there used to be many packages in her father’s car. In response, she asked him if she was some kind of “gold digger”.
Lidia replied: “You have to see things as they were, that he came here with a loaded car. And if we needed something, he would get it.”
After hearing this, Pedro became very angry with his mother and grandmother. Pedro filled his anger, he said: “All the fucking people keep saying the same thing s–sr, how good my father was, like, I s–sr don’t understand it. Don’t tell me he was a good father just because he gave me money and clothes when I was a baby. If it’s that, he’s fine.”
Pedro added: “He can pay, but I need more than that! What about feelings, connections, relationships? What about spending time together? It’s not just about the money.” So, hopefully, Pedro will meet his half-siblings and maybe even his father this season.
