How would you react if you saw someone biting the soap? This unusual culinary curiosity will probably make you raise an eyebrow and even disgust you a little. That’s how some reacted to a video on Instagram showing a woman eating ‘soap’. However, there were reactions from those who did not wait until the end of the video. Towards the end of the clip, it is revealed that the woman was eating a hyper-realistic cake designed to look like a bar of soap.

Baker Suchi Dutta shared the video on Instagram. She jokingly wrote: “I like to eat soap.” The video opens to show her holding a bottle of Dettol hand wash in one hand and “soap” in the other. A text insert flashing across the screen also reads: “Which is better?”
As the video progresses, another text insert appears that reads: “I love soap.” He is then seen biting the ‘soap’ in his hand. She also nods her head in appreciation for the taste. The truth about the ‘soap’ is revealed at the end when she cuts the hyperrealistic cake. The text appendix explains more about this. “Because my cake is also a box in chocolate,” it says.

The post was shared on September 4. Since it was posted, the clip has garnered close to 2.8 million views. The share also received tons of likes and comments.
