Ray Jimenez at Netflix’s Designing Miami
Netflix’s all-new show, Designing Miami, premiered on September 21, 2022, and features two skilled interior designers, Ray and Eilyn Jimenez, as they work their magic on clients throughout Miami, helping them transform their homes from drab to opulent.
But just because the duo were married doesn’t mean they were always on the same page when it came to interior design. They were competitors! Ray sought to satisfy his clients with a more maximalist approach, while his wife believed that a minimalist aesthetic was all they needed.
“Juggling the needs of their wealthy clients, their team of young designers, their close-knit families (some of whom are also contractors), and their relationship with each other isn’t easy, but this talented and stylish duo manages to get out go ahead while always maintaining a no-nonsense sense of humor,” reads the official Netflix synopsis.
Ray and Eilyn Jimenez teamed up for Designing Miami’s inaugural season with their staff: Valentina Leon (Senior Interior Designer), Karina Perlaza (Senior Interior Designer), Camila Milagros (Junior Interior Designer), Andrea Ritter (Architectural Draftsman) and María Gabriel Hernández (Architectural Draftsman).
Among them, Valentina has been with Ray’s company for more than three years, Karina for more than two, and Andrea and Camila recently joined the team.
Eilyn and Ray Jimenez relationship
Ray Jimenez first met Eilyn in 2017. A year later, he popped the question to the love of his life in August (on Eilyn’s birthday).
Finally, on October 16, 2019, the duo walked down the aisle at a lavish wedding in Barcelona, attended by their “closest family and friends.”
“These memories coupled with an incredible year have set the bar high. I can’t wait to see what the next 99 years will bring us together, but I hope we always continue to laugh as much and love as much as we do.” Being married to your best friend is really all of that,” Eilyn shared in an IG post on her first anniversary.
Also, since their wedding, Ray and Eilyn have always gone skiing on Valentine’s Day every year. (Well, at least as of this writing.)
Speaking a bit about Eilyn, she comes from a loving Cuban-American family. Both parents were immigrants. But it was only thanks to her support that Eilyn was able to follow her dreams. At the age of 16, Eilyn began studying business at the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica, but it wasn’t long before she found her calling in architecture. So, already in her second year, she changed careers and now she is a famous designer and reality star.

Who are the parents of Ray Jimenez?
Like his wife, Ray Jimenez was born into an immigrant family.
His mother, Paula Caraballo (born: December 1961) came to the United States from the Dominican Republic and made a living selling used clothing abroad for pounds. She worked up to 2-3 hours mourning, shipping and packing clothes to earn enough money for everyone.
Of course, Ray was inspired by his mother and credits her for his success.

Now speaking of his in-laws, they are Rolando (born: November 1967) and Miriam Cueto. They lived in Miami, FL in 2022.
On Father’s Day 2020, Ray even wished Roland on his IG thanking him for “being there for me, showing me the way, being patient with me even when I made it hard for you, believing in me and encouraging me to dream, that you’ve been my greatest support throughout my life and you have encouraged me to fulfill all my crazy dreams”.

Looking back, Ray began his career in April 2004 as a “Visual Merchandising Assistant/Sales Associate” at Guess? In 2007, he joined Domus Design Studio as “project manager / designer” and worked there for almost 2 and a half years.
To further enhance his skills, Ray joined TSAO Design Group in January 2009 as an intern and immediately after completing his training in October of that year, joined Avant Design Group as “Project Manager/Interior Designer”. .
Finally, in May 2010, after connecting with his Miami International University classmate Shannon Scott, Ray co-founded Miami-based interior design agency RS3 Designs. After starting his own company, Ray had the opportunity to meet a few people in the industry, including Steven and Ori (who would later end up working for him), eventually landing jobs from him to start his current interior design company, Raymond Nicholas. in May 2021.
Regarding his education, Ray graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2006 from Miami Dade College and later earned a Bachelor of Interior Design from The Arts Institutes.
