R’Bonney Gabriel, who was reportedly born in March 1994, is the daughter of R’Bon and Dana Gabriel. Her parents owned an auto repair shop and her father also has a doctorate in psychology. On July 2, she became the first Filipina American to Miss Texas USA, making history. She said that it was an honor to serve as a spokesperson for the Filipino community.
“I hope this shows any Filipino or Asian, or anyone who doesn’t see someone like themselves in luxury or in any industry, that it doesn’t mean there’s no place for them,” R’Bonney said. “You can always be the first person to do something.” She currently works as a designer and model.
R’Bonney graduated from the University of North Texas in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Fashion/Clothing Design, with a concentration in fibers.
