Remove D’banj As Youth Ambassador, More Than 15,000 Sign Petition To UN

More than 15,000 people signed an online petition against Nigerian Afrobeat singer Dapo Oyebanjo in less than 24 hours after it was launched by E Popoola.

Thousands have launched a petition on change.org demanding United Nations action against D’banjo for the alleged rape of Seyitan Babatayo.

The wish petition can be viewed on change.org, under the title; A petition for the United Nations to remove Nigerian artist D’banjo as a youth ambassador has been signed by 15,000 at the time of writing.

The first person to sign the petition said Lafid Peters; “You may not be sure if she raped this lady, but kidnapping her and forcing her to retract her statement makes you guilty.”

The petition says; “We call on the United Nations and the United Nations for Women in Africa to remove Nigerian artist Mr. Dapo Oyebanjo as Youth Ambassador and distance themselves from his actions following the sponsored kidnapping of Seyitan, who accused D’ banjo rape and sexual assault that occurred in 2018.”
