Local Delaware chef Robbie Jester has been crowned the winner of a Netflix cooking contest Pressure cooker. Robbie entered the competition along with 10 other contestants, which premiered on January 6. To celebrate his appearance, he and his friends hosted a release party at Bellefonte Brewing Co. North Wilmington.
The chefs on “Presslook” live together and compete with each other, just like “Top Chef” on Bravo and “Hell’s Kitchen.” In contrast to such shows, there is a “Survivor” style component in which contestants rate each other. “It’s a mix between Eldest brother and a top chef where we’re all in one house, living together, brushing our teeth next to each other and also cooking in a cooking competition that changes every day,” Robbie said of the show. “We have a social element Eldest brother, there are no famous chefs, nor a judge living with us in the house. “That competition gives you a barometer of where you are as a professional, where your strengths are and where your weaknesses are, and if you let it, it teaches you a lot about yourself and where you need to grow and learn,” Robbie added. .
