Roborock S8 Pro Ultra vs. Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni: which is the better robot vacuum?

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and the Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni are two of the newest (and most expensive) robot vacuums to hit the market. Both come from companies with reputations for making strong, high-end products — but is one better suited for your home than the other?

Here’s a comparison of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and the Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni to help you decide which one to bring into your home.

Prices and availability

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra costs $1,600 and is available in white or black. The Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni costs $1,200 and is available in white. They can be found directly through their affiliate stores and many third-party retailers. Both models come with a docking station that includes three tanks (clean water, dirty water and dust), and both are well designed and pleasing to the eye.

Suction

When it comes to pure power, the S8 Pro Ultra is ahead of the Deebot T10 Omni. Roborock’s new flagship maxes out with an impressive 6,000 Pa of suction, while the T10 Omni achieves 5,000 Pa of suction.

However, no matter what you choose, you’ll be treated to a superior cleaning experience that means you won’t have to worry about emptying the bin for weeks. Ecovacs says its base holds up to 60 days of dust, while the Roborock boasts up to seven weeks without needing to change the dust bag.

Testing at home showed that both offer an incredible vacuuming experience and the ability to remove fur, dust and other debris that was deeply embedded in the carpet. Both were also able to clear corners and avoid obstacles without any problems.

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra uses a single mop pad to tackle your hardwood and tile floors. And thanks to its versatile base, it can also clean and dry your mop when it’s done.

The Deebot T10 Omni can also clean and dry its own cloth, although it uses two swivel heads to wipe away deep stains. Both robots do an excellent job of cleaning floors, but the Ecovacs product might be a better choice if your home is made up exclusively of hardwood, tile, laminate, or other smooth floor coverings.

However, it’s worth mentioning that the Deebot T10 Omni cannot raise its mop heads and will not travel on carpet while its mop heads are installed. This means you may have to manually pick it up and move it depending on where your plinth is placed — and you’ll have to manually remove the mop heads if you want it to travel across the carpet.

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, meanwhile, can retract its mop by 5mm, allowing it to travel across carpet without getting it wet (unless, of course, you have extra plush carpets).

Additional options

Roborock S8 Pro Ultra offers support for Amazon Alexa and Google Home. The Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni also works with both smart home platforms, but also has a built-in YIKO voice assistant for quick commands.

Both are incredibly quiet in operation, offer superior navigation software, and come with a smartphone app that lets you schedule cleanings, change settings, or perform custom cleanings.

Is the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra worth the extra cost?

If your floor is entirely carpeted or tiled, then you can probably get away with the more affordable Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni. It works incredibly well whether it’s vacuuming or mopping, giving you hands-free cleaning that most other robots can’t beat.

However, if your home consists of both carpet and tile, the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is well worth the extra cost. Since the Deebot T10 Omni won’t travel on carpet with the mop installed, you’ll need to manually intervene if you want to perform a full clean. With Roborock, you can simply let it do its job without having to think twice.

Anyone looking for a robotic vacuum cleaner that is truly automated will find it in the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra. The Deebot T10 Omni comes close to achieving that – and that’s mostly if you have one type of floor – but there’s no doubt that the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the better option for most homes (despite the high price).
