Ronald Gladden comes from a family of six: his parents, himself, and three brothers. He loves them to the moon. But he didn’t confide in them his secret that they were pulling a prank on him in his jury service. “I didn’t tell anyone, because I didn’t want to risk being the one to ruin everything,” he explained.
However, he jokingly told them, like “Oh hey guys, I’m going to be famous here soon. You can’t talk to me like that.” So when Jury Duty finally came out, it was great to see the reaction from him. “I said, ‘Dude, I told you so,'” he added.
Ronald first applied for jury duty through an ad on Craigslist. But of course, he had no idea what he was getting himself into. “I signed up for what I thought was a documentary. I didn’t really know what was going on until the very end,” he said. At first, he thought he was just doing his civic duty, with some cameras following him. But he didn’t know that everyone but him were actors vying to work in a civil trial of three weeks in a Los Angeles court.
To keep Ronaldo out, they even locked him up because James Marsden invited the paparazzi himself. “I was locked up for over three weeks. I don’t think people understand that. I had no access to the outside world, no phone, no laptop, no internet. I couldn’t watch TV. It was like the only thing I could do in My free time was reading a book or, the production got us a Switch, so we could play some video games from time to time, ”he recalled.
During the quarantine, he didn’t even like to contact his family because only the bailiff was standing in the room with him the whole time, but they also listened to the whole conversation.
Fortunately, Ronaldo’s upbeat personality quickly caught the attention of viewers, who began calling him things like “the walking green flag.”
Now that filming has wrapped, Ronald has returned to his everyday life as a construction manager at The Home Depot. Prior to serving on the jury, he served as Vice President of Construction at Scrubbing Solar LLC.
