Rotten Tomatoes and Movieclips team up for YouTube network

Rotten Tomatoes, one of the leading aggregators of movie and television reviews, announced today that it has partnered with YouTube’s leading producer of movie clips and trailers, Movieclips, to form a new video network known as the Rotten Tomatoes YouTube Network. The resulting creation will serve as the perfect place for entertainment fans to watch more than 100,000 short and long-form videos from their favorite movies and television shows, as well as watch trailers for upcoming projects.

With the merger of these two major entertainment programs, the Rotten Tomatoes YouTube network will now have more than 90 million subscribers. Previously, Movieclips organized its content around movie clips and trailers. By partnering with Rotten Tomatoes, the network will increase its coverage and add television and streaming to its platform. The network will feature 10 active channels such as Rotten Tomatoes Movieclips, Rotten Tomatoes Trailers, Rotten Tomatoes TV, Rotten Tomatoes Classic Trailers and more. In addition, expect to see celebrity interviews, entertainment news, event coverage and fan discussions online.

In a press release announcing the creation of the network, Mark Young, SVP and General Manager of Rotten Tomatoes, said, “By combining the global brand recognition and trust of Rotten Tomatoes with Movieclips’ legendary collection of clips and trailers, we can be an even more comprehensive resource for fans to recommend content and engagement in the growing world of movies, TV and streaming.”

In addition to the network, Rotten Tomatoes announced the formation of two new podcasts: Aftershow Rotten Tomatoes and Rotten Tomatoes Binge Battle. After show will feature top personalities from Rotten Tomatoes and Fandango discussing the latest film releases. Previous episode themes include Top Gun: Maverick and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Binge battle will have Rotten Tomatoes editor Mark Ellis serving as moderator for a spirited debate between the two contestants on popular television shows such as Euphoria, Ted Lassoand Better call Saul.
