Sammie Okposo, a Nigerian gospel artist who was also a music producer, psalmist and CEO of Zamar Entertainment, passed away on November 25, 2022 at his residence in Lagos.
The 51-year-old multiple award winner is reported to have collapsed early this morning after battling depression for several weeks.
Dozens of people turned out to pay their respects to the singer during a busy day in Lagos; some wore white while others wore black. Her wife Ozioma was seen heartbroken as she poured sand on her grave during her funeral.
The singer, whose debut album “Unconditional Love” included the hit song “Welu-Welu,” was buried in a private cemetery in Ikoyi after a church service led by Dr. Flourish Peters, Senior Pastor of LOGIC Church and Pastor House main. on the Rock, Paul Adefarasin.
Ozioma, his wife, could not hold back her tears as she stood by the grave after the coffin was thrown to the ground.
When the time came to bury the body, the mourners had to help the grieving woman.
