Santos Rosario is one of Lawrence “Larry” Ray’s victims who survived the cult before it got worse. During her testimony in 2022, Santos made some shocking revelations that Larry made him and his sister wear diapers because they were “acting like kids.”
During his third day of testimony in Manhattan Federal Court, Santos testified that he left the sinister cult in 2015 because he grew increasingly afraid of the leader of the “Ray Family.” When Ray told him and his sister Felicia, who was also part of the bizarre cult, to wait at Ray’s Upper East Side apartment in nothing but diapers, Rosario claimed that she decided she had to leave the cluster.
The siblings were diapered by Isabella Pollok, Ray’s right-hand woman, who is also a defendant in the case.
“I don’t remember the context or what they accused us of this time, but Larry said that supposedly my sister and I were acting like children and that Isabella put us in diapers,” Rosario reflected during the trial. “We waited there until Larry said we could take them off.” Santos left the sect after five years to avoid Ray’s interrogation and physical assaults. He later moved to a homeless shelter.
“I couldn’t take it anymore… These interrogations with Larry just kept getting more terrible and longer. I couldn’t articulate words at the time, but I was terrified to be there. Meet Santos Rosario, a survivor of Larry Ray’s cult
Santos Rosario had high hopes when she entered the prestigious Sarah Lawrence College of Liberal Arts in Bronxville, New York in 2009. However, her hopes were quickly dashed. It is true that she did not do well in high school due to mental and family problems. As a result, he was truly delighted when he made real, compatible friends on campus.
So it should come as no surprise that his group decided to move into the Slonim Woods 9 bedroom townhouse during his sophomore year in 2010, ultimately ushering in his downfall.
Santos later began dating his roommate, Talia Ray, which only added to his praise for his father, Larry, who moved out the following year. By 2011, he claimed that Ray was constantly accusing him of wasting his time, poisoning him, and damaging his property while he was constantly demanding money as compensation for the alleged betrayal. She claimed that Ray had full control over him.
Santos had no idea that Larry had used this moment of weakness as his perfect opportunity to become violent in every way: violent, coercive, controlling, and manipulative. He really started out so well that the young man introduced him to his two older sisters, Felicia and Yalitza, in the hope that he could help them too.
However, it quickly turned into sheer agony. In addition to eventually moving in with Larry and a few other people in a small apartment, the three were also at odds with each other to the point where their trusting relationship broke down.
Based on evidence presented at the 2022 trial, Santos believed he was part of a plan to kill Ray involving Ray’s former closest friend, former NYPD Commissioner Bernie Kerik. Ray served as best man at Kerik’s 1998 wedding, but later testified against the former top police officer in a corruption case. He claimed that he actually thought that he was using ricin to poison Ray and other members of the “Ray Family”.

Despite everything that happened, Santos was finally able to leave Larry’s cult in 2015 after beginning to fear the leader and her right-hand woman (aka lieutenant), Isabelle Pollok. But the last straw wasn’t the money, the slapping, the strangling, or the knife against his genitals, but the way Larry made Isabella punish him and Felicia by putting diapers on them.

Santos briefly returned to the sect in 2019, but after a candid conversation with federal prosecutors, he quickly realized the seriousness of the situation and turned his back on it for good. Thus, after Larry’s arrest in February 2020, he was authorized not only to testify against him but also to establish contact with his family.
