The patron saint of the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN), Brigitte Jullien, strongly defended the independence of her team this Tuesday, warning that it “would not tarnish their honor”. “Our institution is the fear of all policemen. Criticize the IGPN today, it is an insult to their professionalism and ethics. I will not allow to tarnish their honor,” said the director of the IGPN at a press conference.

While the Minister of the Interior, Christophe Castaner, announced a “thorough reform” of the IGPN and its gendarmerie counterpart, the IGGN, to give them “more independence in their actions vis-à-vis the services”, Brigitte Jullien claims that ” definition of independence applied to IGPN”.
