Some of his victims featured on the show are Ayleen Charlotte, Cecilie Schrøder Fjellhøy, and Pernilla Sjoholm. In a text message in May 2019, Shimon told ABC’s “Nightline” that she was innocent. He also added that all the accusations against him were just “a loan between friends who went south.”
He added: “They used me to live, gave them expensive gifts and everything, in other words, gold diggers. When I ask for help, they agree to help and they know I have a problem. I didn’t run away from anyone, it’s all fake news and lies.”
However, in December 2019, the police caught him and imprisoned him in Israel. Interpol and the Israeli police were looking for him. He was sentenced to 15 months in prison. However, in the end he only served 5 months of his sentence. He left early because of the pandemic.
