Spencer Herron Bio

Since he had previously owned a local business and had served in the Air National Guard, Spencer Herron of Acworth, Georgia, was once a well-liked citizen. After that, the alleged Berry College grad obtained a position teaching video production at Kell High School in Cobb County, where he was named “Teacher of the Year” not once, but twice. According to all accounts, he was a fantastic mentor—that is, until the reality of his actions—which included the accusation that he had sexually assaulted at least three of his students beginning in 2016—came to light in June 2018.

In accordance with court documents, Spencer started texting a female student during the summer of 2016 and urged her to meet him on the pretext of doing some work for a fictitious school club. Documents show that Spencer kept up the pretence to take her on “unsanctioned ‘field trips’,” and that he actually succeeded in abusing her on multiple occasions throughout the academic year, both within and outside the university. She found the extraordinary bravery to report him within months, all the while immersing herself in the college experience. The assaults stopped in 2017—likely around the time she graduated.

However, it’s important to note that during the 2016–2017 and 2017–2018 academic years, Spencer is alleged to have taken advantage of two additional female students numerous times. The other claimed he once urged her to “be quiet” when she started crying, while the former claimed to have told police investigators they had sex with each other after she had specifically told him no. The educator’s 15-year career ended in June 2018 due to the former alone, therefore it appears that these specific cases did not resolve. He was taken into custody at his residence and jailed on a $55,220 bond.
