A full moon graces the sky on average every 29 days, but some months may have two full moons due to the different number of days in the month. Blue moons, on the other hand, are a rare occurrence and usually only happen once every two and a half years. However, in 2018, sky watchers were lucky enough to witness two blue moons two months apart, one of which was a lunar eclipse.

A Super Blue Moon occurs when a Super Moon overlaps a Blue Moon. The next Super Blue Moon will occur in January and March 2037.
