That means I’m filming the new Superman movie, which is a real honor. I’m very happy. We are all excited to be part of the team. We’re lucky he has a clear vision of the movie he wants. But this condition is not common.
A lot of times you actually find it, or a lot of times production designers and costume designers find it for the director. But he always comes with a great first script draft, which is also rare, and has a very clear idea of how to shoot the movie and how he wants it to feel. He has strong references. He has great musical references, and he knows it all too well. He really created this amazing roadmap for my team, me and the rest of the creative department.
It always starts with a big and beautiful world. We rolled up our sleeves, took art ideas and references, and shared them with him. He gave great feedback, gave direction, but he also gave a lot of creative license, which is also rare, especially for someone with such a vision. So we can all really spread our wings and have a really good time doing it, and at the end of the day, we all really feel like we contributed to it.
