Who are the parents of Taniya Nayak?
Tanija Nayak’s parents, BD Nayak and Leela Nayak, were married in May 1966. She was born in India and grew up in Boston. When her father got a scholarship to MIT, her family emigrated from India and she started her new life in the United States.
Furthermore, Taniya often referred to her father as the best mentor in her life. Speaking of his parents, he said: “Generally speaking, Indian parents can have very high expectations of their children. In April 2014, Tania’s parents and their children were hospitalized after their car caught fire in a Weymouth garage. The house was filled with dangerous levels of carbon monoxide, according to fire officials. Her father was the first to go to the hospital because he had a heart problem.
Her husband discovered her mother and her two children at home.
Leela said, “They were both saying their stomachs hurt and things like that. The 10 year old threw up so I cleaned up the mess after him. Then the little one vomited. I went to the bedroom to open the windows and passed out.”
“We are excited because when I think about it, thank God. God was watching us,” said Leela Nayak. “We feel that we have a second life. I don’t worry about myself, I worry about my grandchildren.”
