ESPN co-host Dan Thomas was very scared, but later confirmed that Hislop was fine.

But after giving his colleagues and viewers quite the scare, Hislop is now “conscious and recovering” and was jokingly called a “silly” by his co-host.

The former West Ham and Newcastle goalkeeper (54) retired from professional football in 2007.

And Hislop now works as a pundit for the American television channel ESPN.

The two-time FA Cup finalist was in action the night Real Madrid beat AC Milan 3-2 in a pre-season friendly.

But Hislop scared the hell out of viewers and ESPN host Dan Thomas when he passed out live before kickoff.

With the temperature in Pasadena, California hovering around 30 degrees Celsius, the dramatic footage captured the moment Hislop began to sway before falling forward and to the ground.

Thomas, in a panic, immediately rushed to her side while calling for medical help.

And the camera quickly cut to the commercial, leaving viewers stunned.

But the kick-off came after ESPN confirmed that Shaka was “conscious and recovering.”

And friend Thomas delivered a good message at half-time confirming the “good news.”

Visibly relieved, he said: “My friend, Shaka, isn’t here, but as it stands, it’s good news.

“He’s conscious, he’s talking, I think he’s a little embarrassed about everything.

“He apologized profusely. He is not a man who likes to be yelled at.

“Obviously it is too soon for any diagnosis, but it is important that Shaka is conscious and we have also spoken with his family, because imagine seeing him live.

“We talked to his wife and things are looking good.”

Thomas later quipped, “Silly Shaka.”
