Before we get into the build, let’s dive into the overview first so you know how to use the EX1. For starters, there are several ways to craft this weapon, from an SMG to a long-range rifle and even a sniper. This is because weapon attachments fundamentally change its performance, making it ideal for almost any play style. The other important thing to note is that the EX1 is something of a trap weapon. Not bad, by any means, but so far there is no build that places this weapon on targets. Maybe there’s a certain combination of accessories that makes it a serious competitor, but so far the EX1 feels more like silly fun than a competitive option. There are plenty of viable builds for EX1, but our top pick is a long-range class that works on all maps. Feel free to experiment and change the ingredients as you see fit. This setup will prioritize range and recoil control, allowing you to secure long-range takedowns from afar.
Start with the TLL Disc Fit Muzzle for increased damage range, recoil resistance, and an overall increase in recoil control. This is crucial when building long range weapons. Next, go with the PWN Beam Condenser Barrel, which gives you more damage, headshot damage, semi-auto DMR conversion, and more damage range. Basically, this will turn the weapon into a powerful single shot weapon similar to a DMR.
After that, we recommend going with a long distance optic like the G16 2.5x if you’re on console (since console gamers are locked to 80 FOV). Choose what works for you, as long as it offers enough momentum.
